Astral Tournament is a round-based card game where strategy plays a very important role. The game, developed by Apus Software, is based on duels, where two opponents compete to become the best mage on earth. Opponents may be another human player, or the computer.
The objective of the game is to defeat our enemy by casting spells and reducing his life from 50 to 0, with the final goal of winning the Archmage title. To do so, our character has a number of powerful spells to attack the enemy, all of them based on natural elements like water, fire, air, earth, and death. Before starting we can choose our character from six mages with specific powers and specialized in one of the elements, as well as the level of difficulty of a duel.
On the other hand, we can choose among different game modes, for instance, single games where you face a computer opponent. Then there is a 'Hot Seat Mode', where you can do battle with a friend sharing the computer, and also network and Internet mode which will let you compete with people from a local network or from all over the world respectively.
Some characters will remind you of Japanese Manga in style, and even though animations are not the best part, the game as a whole is thrilling and entertaining, requiring a deep and careful analysis before casting a new spell. Its trial version is fully functional during 30 days.
